| This year, the stump on the left hosted this expressive specimen. | ||

| Polypores at this site bloom at the same time each year. | ||
|
||
| The three stumps seem to take turns hosting polypores. | ||
|
||
| During a span of 10-12 days the polypore fully expands. | ||
|
||
| Then suddenly stops growing. | ||
|
||
| Its rich colors slowly fade as it dries out. | ||
