Healthy Trails Hike
9AM Saturday, 19 May, Coyote Lake County Park - Meet at the Mendoza Ranch entrance on Roop Road in Gilroy (free parking). We'll hike a Moderate 10 mile loop that includes sections of the Coyote Ridge and Harvey Bear Trails. Along the way we'll enjoy spectacular views of Santa Clara Valley, Coyote Lake watershed, plus wildflowers, butterflies, birds, lizards and possibly other wildlife.
Nature Hike, Rancho San Vicente
9AM Sunday, 3 June, Calero County Park, $6 parking fee. Meet at the Boat Launch parking lot on McKean Road where we'll car pool to the entrance of Rancho San Vicente. We'll hike a Moderate 3 mile total out-and-back route to enjoy summer wildflowers, butterflies, birds, and possibly other wildlife.
Moon Blooms In June Twilight Hike
5:30PM Tuesday, 12 June, Rancho Canada del Oro. Join me for an 3 mile total out-and-back twilight hike a ways up Longwall Canyon Trail to see Soap Root in bloom. A "twilight bloomer" soap root is a valuable nectar source for insects and hummingbirds, providing an energy boost at days end. During the hike, learn of the many ways native Ohlone used the versatile Soap Root plant.

9AM Saturday, 16 June, Ed Levin County Park - Meet at the Spring Pond entrance, $6 parking fee. We'll hike a Moderate 2.3 mile loop that includes Spring Valley and Los Coches Ridge Trails. Along the way we'll enjoy sweeping views of San Francisco Bay and the Mission Peak watershed, plus wildflowers, butterflies, birds, lizards and possibly other wildlife.

Summer Solstice Twilight Hike
5:30PM Wednesday, 20 June, Calero County Park (no parking fee). Join me for a 2.8 mile twilight hike through the foothills to see Soap Root in bloom. A "twilight bloomer" soap root is a valuable nectar source for insects and hummingbirds, providing an energy boost at days end.
